Throughout my career, I have demonstrated a deep commitment to supporting marginalized and vulnerable communities through both professional achievements and charity care. As a social worker focused on refugees, immigrants, and other at-risk populations, I have consistently pursued excellence in culturally competent practice and community-centered initiatives. From 2016 to 2018, I served on the Refugee Child Welfare Advisory Committee, where I worked to enhance cross-cultural sensitivity and ethnically competent services for refugee children and families. In this role, I provided CPS caseworkers with essential cultural knowledge to ensure appropriate and sensitive support for refugee families, helping bridge gaps in understanding and service delivery. During my five-year tenure at Catholic Charities, I received the highest evaluation in the 2018 Matching Grant Audit, recognizing my effectiveness in case management and dedication to empowering clients. In 2017, I developed a Multicultural Emergency Preparedness program in collaboration with Multnomah County, the American Red Cross, and Catholic Charities of Oregon. This program secured sustainable grant funding to deliver emergency preparedness education to minority and refugee communities. Volunteering has also been integral to my journey, including teaching and advocacy roles across India, Nepal, Laos, Sri Lanka, and South Korea. These experiences strengthened my cultural competence and deepened my dedication to social justice. In 2020, I contributed to the IRC Denver Racial Equity Collective, addressing disparities in organizational policies to promote equity and inclusion. In 2024, I developed an onboarding program for case managers working with neurodivergent individuals and remote staff. This training incorporated trauma-informed principles and cultural competency, emphasizing mental health access and inclusivity. I am now a Master's Level Behavioral Health Clinician in the Denver Metro area, providing in-home and community-based therapy to individuals and families navigating complex trauma, behavioral health challenges, and multi-system involvement. These experiences have strengthened my foundation in trauma-informed care, cultural sensitivity, and community advocacy—skills I apply daily and will continue expanding as I grow in the field.
